The book of Job explores one of the most enduring questions of humanity: Why do bad things happen? Lead your congregation in a church-wide study of this faithful--yet afflicted--biblical figure.

This study guide is based off of a Sunday morning sermon series, Job: Learning to Ride out the Storm, preached at Grace Community Church in Clarksville, Tenn. (http://www.gcomchurch.com) by Ron Edmondson and Chad Rowland.

The study includes a super-simple reading plan for covering the entire book of Job in six weeks. (Job has 42 chapters, so it's just one chapter a day!) Through individual reading, small group discussion, and weekly sermons, people will be enriched and encouraged by the lessons learned in the book of Job.

Outline

Week 1: Struggles are not always the result of personal sin. (Job 1-2)

Week 2: Pain can be the greatest test for a marriage (Job 2:9)

Week 3: Choosing the right friends affects more than your social life (Job 2:11-12:11)

Week 4: God is in control (Job 13-14)

Week 5: It’s okay to question God (Job 29)

Week 6: God’s answer to the struggles of the world is…God (Job 38-42)
